This is how it has been at Nakuru County Assembly, epic battle for power. Thank God it did not happen in Nyanza, the media would have been a wash with negative comments.

Raila And CORD Should Shape Agenda That Transcend Rallies!

Posted by john ambuli on Saturday, May 31, 2014, In : OPINION

By Jacktone Ambuka

Former prime minister Mr. Raila Odinga will return to Kenya tomorrow amidst arousing welcome rally at Uhuru Park. Thousands of supporters will attend the rally and listen to fiery speeches from CORD politicians. Whatever will happen after the rally is up in the obscurity of the air.

I suspect supporters will just return to their homes and burn out political exuberance stirred by the return of Raila. Beyond rallies, CORD and Raila doesn't seem to have an impact-ful...

Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o seems to have won big even before the start of the Academy Awards ceremony at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Following her breakout role in the film 12 Years a Slave released late last year, the actress has picked up various awards, turned into a fashion icon on the red carpet, and become a darling of the media. More importantly, her career on the big screen seems to have been launched in earnest.

For an actress whose skills were nu...

We Can Do Without Senators Kenya !!!

Posted by john ambuli on Sunday, February 23, 2014, In : OPINION
By Jacktone Ambuka

The stupidest ever power struggle and wrangles between the Kenyan senate and the Parliament is a clear confirmation that we don't need both institutions. We need just one. If we are going to move Kenya forward, we will have to make difficult decision, which is; phase out the senate and empower governors. The parliament should stay put because it is a critical institution that makes critical laws. By and large, power struggle between those two institutions is detrim...

The Mini-skirt Dictatorship In Uganda

Posted by john ambuli on Saturday, February 22, 2014, In : OPINION
By Jacktone Ambuka

Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni and lawmakers of that country failed when they legislated laws to ban miniskirts. The passage and ratification of that law simply means that women in Uganda will be charged in a court of law if they violate it. Yet, comprehensive definition of what a "mini-skirt" is remains scanty. How long or short will the skirt be to be described as mini wasn't elaborated. That gives the government and security agencies enormous power to interpr...

By Ab Murage EGHMP
UHURU KENYATTA'S CABINET SECRETARY KAZUNGU CAMP says to Kenyan faces watching on television that "we want to boost poverty". No wonder poverty index has tripled since these toddlers in leadership and governance who do not even know the right wording to use in a serious sentence were selected by Supreme Court to lead Kenya. If any of you can remember, during his vetting for CS, the same Camp said quote "I will improve corruption from the front". You all can see the lev...

William Ruto Has Got No Right To Lecture Luhyaland On Unity.

Posted by john ambuli on Sunday, December 29, 2013, In : OPINION
  1. By Jackton Ambuka

Asked to propagate an inclusive government that embraces all Kenyans including peace loving people of Luhyaland, Deputy President William Ruto blamed Luhya’s “continued disunity” as a reason for their absence in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government. Isn’t it ridiculous? From the face value, Ruto projects a young, articulate and progressive personality. But when you “peel the mask”, Ruto comes out as a young leader stuck in the old Moi mentality.

Life is a mystery to be discovered . Along discovery journey are hills to be climbed and corners to be negotiated. Regardless of our social status, the journey of life isn't easy. We will run into bumps. We will run into slopes.

The journey of life will bring the good in us. It will also bring the bad in us. Sometime we will fall. Other times we will arise and shine. Sometime we will be disappointed and other times we will rejoice and be glad.

But amidst confusio...

WHERE IS OUR POLITICS HEADING MR.PRESIDENT

Posted by john ambuli on Monday, October 7, 2013, In : OPINION

I might not be able to know whatever is going on in the capital city, Nairobi, but judging from what does reach where I am via the press and other medium of spreading news, I can, sincerely speaking, tell that the president is in a very tight situation.

There is more problem on his hands than there is good. I can’t remember them all but the latest is the Westgate mall attack. Why or how would Kenya get involved in the politics of the country of Somalia? Do we even fund the various politi...

If You Loved President Uhuru Kenyatta, You will be Honest With Him.

By Jacktone Ambuka

Presidents and leaders world over depend a whole lot on their advisors, cronies and friends for sound or stupid decisions. Behind successful leaders are smart advisors. Behind insecure, stupid and dictatorial leaders are pinheaded advisors. I don’t know who advices president Uhuru Kenyatta. But recently, he has made some mistakes that shouldn’t be made.

That's why if you loved Uhuru, you will definitely take him aside and whisper words of truth and wisdom in h...
